Students must work with real challenges from the media industry

Today, the subject 'Serial stories - a maker lab' has been kickstarted at SDU. 

Media City Odense is one of the partners behind the project, and we are constantly working to create new opportunities and paths for the students when they enter the labor market and work professionally with the media. This new "maker-lab" subject with the title "Serial stories" points right into the heart of that work.

På faget, der ledes af Bo Kampmann Walther (Medievidenskab, SDU) og Lene Heiselberg (Journalistik, SDU), møder studerende fra hele SDU i ægte tvær-fakultær ånd ikke bare deres undervisere, men også branchen, der kommer med friske ”pains” i inderlommen. Nærmere bestemt TV 2 Fiktion, TV 2 Fyn og Heartbeats. De studerende har fået tildelt forskellige cases med både indholdsmæssige og konceptuelle elementer, som de skal arbejde med, understøttet af viden om serielle fortællinger – både i fiktionens og journalistikkens verden – så ”pains” kan blive til ”gains”. For us who are behind it, it is exciting to kickstart the process and we look forward to following it. Maybe a new concept for measuring segments in the world of journalism will come out of it. Or maybe a new model to "build" fictions on multiple platforms!
